Modo is a 3D modeling, texturing, animation, and rendering application originally developed by Luxology and later acquired by Foundry. Its creative tools allow artists to design and refine 3D graphics without complex technical barriers.
Single-threaded design tasks in Modo perform best on processors with high single-core clock speeds rather than a high core count. Intel Core Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 processors offer a strong balance of performance and value compared to standard Xeon chips for these operations. During multi-threaded rendering tasks, Modo fully utilizes multi-core and hyper-threading capabilities, making processors with high core counts, such as the Ultra 9 with 8 performance cores, 16 efficient cores, and 32 threads, ideal for heavy rendering workloads. System performance can be further enhanced by selecting professionally tuned, high-frequency processors.
Modo supports professional workstation graphics cards as well as consumer-grade desktop GPUs. Fast storage is essential, with NVMe M.2 solid state drives recommended for maximum throughput. Higher-end computing configurations utilizing AMD Threadripper Pro or Intel Xeon processors can be tailored for demanding enterprise workloads.
