EdgeCAM Workstations Recommended Best Configurations by @Xi Computers
Edgecam is a computer aided manufacturing system that generates machining strategies and CNC code from CAD models. This CAD CAM software supports 3D milling, mill turn, multi axis machining, and 3D machining. The platform utilizes in house knowledge and experience to drive the CAM process with automation tools tailored to different applications.
During modeling and rendering activities, the software does not take advantage of many CPU cores. The best performance for these specific tasks requires the fastest top core speed. The Intel Core Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 processors are preferred over Xeon CPUs to deliver the best performance and price ratio.
Conversely, simulation and rendering take full advantage of multiple cores and hyper thread capabilities. The Ultra 9 represents the optimal value by offering 8 Performance cores, 16 Efficient cores, and 32 threads with a high clock spread. Specialized systems provide professionally overclocked versions favoring an absolute top core or all cores at a higher frequency to deliver an optimal balanced performance for both modeling and simulation.
Hardware assisted Open GL capabilities are mandatory for operation. Only NVIDIA RTX professional graphics cards are offered to meet this requirement. Solid state drives are also mandatory, and NVMe M.2 formats are highly recommended. For budgets and requirements beyond standard high end configurations, Threadripper PRO series and Xeon CPUs can be custom quoted.
