Section 508 is federal law that
states general guidelines for
accessibility requirements of
IT-related products and services
that are purchased by Federal
agencies and departments.
Federal agencies must comply
with the Section 508.
Section 508 establishes general
technical standards for the

satisfy Section 508 requirements.

systems comply, for other
software, please refer to the
vendor.

Peripherals/Printers -- please
refer to the vendor.
Only end-user products are covered
(servers are exempt from Section 508
requirements).
